Words: Jann Aldredge-Clanton
Music: Larry E. Schultz, Jann Aldredge-Clanton Unison/opt. Two-Part Voices, Piano Available from Jubilate Music Group/Alfred Sacred This theodicy anthem asks why evil exists in the presence of goodness. Because the words of the hymn are in the form of children’s questions, the last musical phrase mimics pitches from what musicologists call the "international children’s chant." (This series of notes [Sol-Mi-La-Sol-Mi] is recognized and naturally sung by children all over the world.) The rocking motion in the accompaniment, coupled with the words "rock us gently in your arms," seeks to provide a hopeful ending. Alternate text makes the anthem useful for children's or youth and adult choirs. Also Available from Jubilate/Alfred: Digital Download, Accompaniment Track |

Production Guide provides ideas for creative art projects, dance and body movement, multi-generational participation, Bible exploration, and ministry activities that will enhance the learning and presentation of Imagine God!
