Hosanna for Our Time was written during the worldwide pandemic of 2020 to meet the need for a simple Hosanna that could be sung by all ages via a livestream worship service. Though “Hosanna” is commonly understood as a shout of praise, this piece uses its literal meaning, “Save us!“ - a much more appropriate expression for a world in suffering and grief.
